WeTogether Scholarship program provides financial support to the next generation of Jane and Finch community leaders during their post-secondary education within Canada.

For Post Secondary Students

WeTogether   Young Adult Scholarship
  • WeTogether Young Adult Scholarship
    The goal of WeTogether Scholarship program is for post-secondary students who are enrolled in Canadian Universities or Colleges, and to assist the next generation of Jane and Finch area community leaders with financial support during their academic year. It is available for all post-secondary students who meet our program eligibilities regardless of race or religions. The program supports 5-7 students annually with $1,500 per student.
  • Eligibility
    – Post-Secondary Full-time Students who currently enrolled in Canadian Universities or Colleges with minimum average of 70% or B-
    – Age between 18 and 35 inclusive – driver’s license or phone bill to be brought for the interview
    – Place of Residence within Jane & Finch area – M9L, M9M, M3J, M3K, M3L, M3M and M3N using FSA (first 3 digits of the postal code) – driver’s license or phone bill to be brought for the interview.

     – Prizes: $1,500/student
     – Award Ceremony: Nov. 25, Friday

WeTogether   Essay Contest

  • WeTogether Essay Contest for Secondary Students
    The goal of WeTogether Scholarship program is for secondary students, and to assist the next generation of Jane and Finch area community leaders with financial support during their academic year. It is available for all secondary students who meet our program eligibilities regardless of race or religions. The program supports 4 students annually with $500 per student.
  • Eligibility
    – All students enrolled in grades 9-12 in secondary schools located in the following postal code areas.
    – Students enrolled in a Secondary Schools located in the following postal code areas
    M9L, M9M, M3J, M3K, M3L, M3M and M3N using FSA (first 3 digits of the postal code)

     – Prizes: $500/student, 4 students in total
     – Award Ceremony: Nov. 25, Friday

Topic 1:  A Special Person in Your Life
In your daily life, you cross paths with many people. Some are strangers whose only interaction with you is potentially brief eye contact, a nod, a slight smile or nothing at all. Others become intertwined with you, whether it be the next door neighbor, friends from school, teachers, an older sibling, a mentor, and the list goes on. Of all these people, can you identify one person who made a difference in your life and holds a special place in your heart. Who is it? How do you identify with them? Where did you meet them? Why are they special? What did they do for you? In 300-500 words, tell us about this special person in your life.

Topic 2:  What Motivates You?
Each day, we wake up, get out of bed and choose to either stay home, wander the streets, hang out with friends, attend school, participate in after-school programs, and the list goes on. Regardless of what we choose to do, it takes motivation or a desire to take part. What motivates you to get up each day, to participate in those daily routines or to try new things? Is it the desire to excel? The desire to learn? The desire to obtain approval? The desire to be accepted? In 300-500 words, tell us what motivates you in your daily life.

Topic 3:  Overcoming Fears
Regardless of age, every individual has personal fears. It can be fear of bugs, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of the unknown, fear of meeting new people, just to name a few. Fears are real; however, part of maturing and growing is learning how to overcome those fears. In 300-500 words, share with us one of your fears and how you worked or are working to overcome that fear.
